FATHER FREDERICK
In September of 2006 Father Frederick Otieno Nyanguf, AJ was appointed as the Priest-in-residence at the National Blue Army Shrine of the Immaculate Heart of Mary.

I will be celebrating my ninth year as a Religious Missionary priest in December 2006. Since my ordination to the priesthood, I have served as a Vice rector, and Rector in the Minor Seminary in Nairobi, Kenya. I have a Licentiate in Pastoral Theology (STL) from the University of Malta-Europe and an MA in Pastoral Counseling from Loyola University Chicago. I have had experience working in the UK especially in Scotland where I served as a supply priest in the Archdiocese of Glasgow for one and a half years. I am the last born with two brothers and a sister. My mother died few months before my ordination to the priesthood while my father died when I was young. My call to the priesthood was greatly influenced by my mothers' great devotion to our Lady and my great desire to be like our local pastor who was very exemplary in his priestly ministry.

TOUR THE SHRINE
The Shrine grounds are open from 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM  seven days a week, with the Shrine and Gift Shop hours from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM.

The National Blue Army Shrine of the Immaculate Heart of Mary, is located on 150 beautifully landscaped acres in the hills of Warren County, in Washington, NJ, and offers all who come here a peaceful setting for prayer and meditation. Directions

The special charisma of the Shrine is peace. A unique closeness to Jesus and Mary is experienced by pilgrims who come with faith, love and devotion to honor the Eucharistic Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of His Mother.

While visiting the Shrine, be sure to walk through our beautiful Rosary Garden, where each of the Mysteries are represented in a unique and appropriate setting that will add a new spiritual dimension to your prayer and meditation.

Your Rosary begins at the Holy Family Candle House where you can stop and light a candle for a loved one. Follow the path through the Rosary Garden and the outdoor stations of the Cross which may be made individually or by groups.

After leaving the Rosary Gardens, take a tour of the Holy House Chapel, an exact replica of the Holy House of Loreto, where Jesus, Mary and Joseph lived, and view the relics that include a branch from the original holmoak tree. Sister Lucia's vision of the Holy Trinity ("the Last Vision of Fatima" at Tuy, Spain) is depicted in statuary.

Visit the adjoining Gallery of Fine Gift Items. Find out about in-house and personal retreats to renew your soul.

The Capelinha, USA, is an exact replica of the Chapel at Fatima, Portugal, as it stood on the site of Our Lady's apparitions, from 1921 to 1981. On October 13, 1917, the Blessed Virgin asked that a chapel be built there in honor of Our Lady of the Rosary.

Our Capelinha was built through the generous donations of many Blue Army members. The Pilgrim Virgin Statue in the Capelinha was generously donated by the Portuguese Catholic Community.

Many pilgrims that visit the Shrine pray and light candles at the Fatima Apparition Shrine located in the Blessed Sacrament Chapel.

For a donation of $250.00, we will inscribe your message on a brass plaque, that will be placed on a wall beside the Fatima Shrine. To order, call Judi for more information at 908-246-6678. Space is limited.

Browse through the Shrine Gift Shop located down the hall from the Blessed Sacrament Chapel, and view our large selection of rosaries, medals, books, statues, and various religious gift items, many hand made in Fatima.
