The National Pilgrim Virgin Statue of the USA is a lovely hand-carved Image of Our Lady of Fatima given to our country by the Bishop of Fatima in 1967 and crowned by Cardinal O'Boyle in the National Basilica in Washington, DC in 1971. The Statue was blessed by Pope Paul VI during his visit to Fatima in 1967.
The National Pilgrim Virgin Statue is available for diocesan visits. The statue can be the focal point of renewing interest in the Fatima Message and informing many Catholics who are unaware of the important message of conversion and peace brought by the Mother of God to three shepherd children in 1917 at Fatima, Portugal.
The Statue travels around America under the sponsorship of the World Apostolate of Fatima, USA, spreading the important Message of Fatima. Typically, the National Pilgrim Virgin Statue will tour for three weeks in a given diocese. The custodian accompanying the statue will talk about Our Lady’s Message of Fatima.
